Ronaldo: Anderson Silva Is 'Angry and Motivated' to Make Chael Sonnen Suffer
The word on the street is that Anderson Silva is ducking Chael Sonnen, but sources close to the UFC middleweight champion are telling a completely different story.
Ronaldo, a soccer legend and partner of the company responsible for looking after the image of Silva (9nine), recently appeared on "Well, Friends!" and spoke about "The Spider's" demeanor given recent accusations.
""[Anderson Silva] will be much more angry and motivated this time against Sonnen because he spoke a lot of nonsense. Anderson said he is eager to catch him. He's going to knock [Sonnen] down, let him back up, and knock him down again. Anderson is going to make him suffer."
"
Sonnen has insulted Silva in every way to bait him into accepting a fight, but outside of statements from team members and close friends, Silva has remained relatively quiet about the situation.
Even though his upcoming fight with Michael Bisping is a No. 1 contender's bout, Sonnen doesn't believe he'll ever get the opportunity to step into the cage against Silva and avenge his August 2010 loss.
No fighter has come closer than Sonnen in dethroning the proposed pound-for-pound kingpin, who was able to rally from a four-round deficit and latch on a triangle choke in the waning minutes of their memorable UFC 117 clash.
It doesn't matter about large paydays or competing in a Brazilian soccer stadium. Sonnen believes the first fight still haunts Silva, and it's the main reason there will never be a rematch.
With that said, there is always the chance that Ronaldo is right.
If Silva is indeed seeking a fight, it could end up being more than "Uncle Chael" bargained for.
An angry and motivated Anderson Silva is not someone you want to see standing across the cage.
