Marking Out: Chris Jericho, the End of the World and Royal Rumble Edition

We are now less than three days from the start of the official Road to WrestleMania as the Royal Rumble takes place this Sunday. And promotion was in full force this past Monday on Raw. Not only was the No. 1 participant decided, but apparently the answer to how Chris Jericho will be involved with the end of the world will be given as well.

It's always exciting to watch the Rumble, as it's the most consistently good event put on by the WWE each year. There's always at least one surprise entrant, a shocking turn when allies fight one another or rivals join together to take on a bigger threat and the match is usually the longest one of the whole year.

And with Jericho's announcement that the end of the world is coming Sunday, it makes me hope that it involves an awesome superstar return. Now I know that Rey Mysterio and Christian have been rumored to be making their return at the event, neither of them really have an “end of the world” vibe to their characters. With this being the Road to WrestleMania, I'm hoping that it involves the return of The Undertaker, who has been out of action since last WrestleMania.

Imagine the pairing of Jericho and The Undertaker, go on I'll wait.

Okay now imagine them allied together in an angle with Jericho as the mouthpiece and The Undertaker as the enforcer. It would be an epic team in the same way that the Mega Powers were where you have two of the biggest names of a wrestling generation together, even if it's for a short period of time. This could ultimately lead to the two turning on each other, ultimately leading to them fighting each other at WrestleMania.

Yet this may be a pipedream since it may most likely be a female returning to the WWE as the promo videos leading to Jericho's return indicated that a “she” was leading to the end of the world. But in the world of pro wrestling, aren't we, the fans, allowed to dream a bit?
