CAA, 19 Entertainment Find Brotherly Love with Jamie and Andy Murray

Simon Fuller is mostly known for being the man behind the most successful show in the United States, American Idol.

His company, 19 Entertainment, expanded from being mostly an Entertainment based company, with several media properties and representing various acting talents, to the sports spectrum once it teamed up with CAA in representing David Beckham.

Not content with only delving into the soccer market, Fuller has added a pair of tennis players to his client stable. 

Again, 19 Entertainment will team up with CAA to represent the stars.

Andy Murray, one of the best singles tennis players in the world, along with his brother Jamie, who is a strong doubles player, will be represented by the two entities.  Andy is quoted as saying,

“We now have an unbeatable combination of representatives with world-class stature and experience, and we are really excited by what we can achieve together.”

19 Entertainment and CAA are definitely two of the best athlete/entertainment representation companies in the world.  I can understand the excitement.  The brothers leave IMG for the CAA/19 Entertainment duo. 

Is this a sign that IMG is slowly losing industry power to CAA?  Does it pave the path for major agencies to team up in the future instead of competing against one another?

CAA and 19 Entertainment take over representation duties on March 1.  Let’s see how the new partners do for the talented brothers.
