Super Bowl 2012: Perfect Conditions in Indy Favors New England Patriots

Finesse teams love to play in perfect weather conditions. Super Bowl XLVI takes place in the friendly, welcoming confines of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and the New England Patriots are going to show why they have one of the best offenses in the NFL. 

Both quarterbacks in this game—Tom Brady and Eli Manning—are at the top of their games, they have playmakers to throw the ball to and there is nothing stopping them from putting on one of the greatest duels that we have seen in recent memory. 

In a battle of great offensive teams, the Patriots are deeper than the New York Giants. You can talk about defense all you want, but these two teams are where they are right now because of the way that their offenses have played. 

Nothing is going to phase either team. They are well-coached, both have played on this stage before and there will be no secrets or gimmicks used on either side. 

Speed kills in this kind of game, and no team has more speed on offense right now than the Patriots. Welker is the best receiver in the NFL at being able to take a nothing play and turning it into a 25- to 30-yard gain. 

Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski, assuming he plays, are the best tight end duo in the league today. It is hard enough for a team to cover one of them, much less both of them. 

The Giants pass rush is being talked about a lot, and deservedly so, but they are going to have to keep most of their front seven in coverage just to contain the trio of Welker, Hernandez and Gronkowski. That is going give Brady more time to sit in the pocket and find Deion Branch or Chad Ochocinco (seriously) down the field. 

As good as the Giants front four is, the secondary was burned twice last week against Vernon Davis, who was the only player that San Francisco had who could hurt them. Knowing that, they still gave up two long touchdowns to him. 

What is going to happen when they have to defend Welker, Hernandez and Gronkowski? It is not going to be pretty for the Giants, but the Patriots will enjoy celebrating their fourth championship in the last 11 seasons.
