WWE News: Reported Reason for Zack Ryder Being Written off of TV

It has not been a good couple of weeks for Zack Ryder. 

After losing the United States Championship to Jack Swagger on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago, Ryder was absolutely destroyed by Kane on this week’s episode, and as the storyline goes, he has a herniated disc in his back. 

The angle where Kane chokeslammed him through the stage and forced Ryder to be taken out of the arena via ambulance was done seemingly to write Ryder off of TV for a while, and now, we have a report on why he’s taking a hiatus from Raw for a while.

As seen on Monday's RAW Supershow, WWE apparently wrote Zack Ryder out of the storylines for the time being. There had been talk for weeks of keeping Ryder off TV for some time.

While this isn't confirmed, there are now rumblings that Ryder is away filming a movie or some kind of program, possibly for the WWE Network.

While some fans seem to be up in arms about Ryder being written off of TV this week, I actually think it may have been a brilliant idea.

Although it’s unfortunate for Ryder that he will miss the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and the big payday that comes along with it, just look at what missing the Rumble did for Cody Rhodes in 2011.

Yeah, it sucked that Rhodes wasn’t featured on one of the WWE’s biggest PPVs of the year. But he returned from his storyline injury with a vengeance, and was ultimately able to reach the highest point of his career up to that point because Rey Mysterio “injured” him.

I could certainly see something similar happening with Ryder.

Ryder is undoubtedly the glue that is holding the “embrace the hate” storyline between Kane and John Cena together, and he will likely continue to play a huge part in their feud going forward.

Perhaps Ryder’s injury leads to Cena actually embracing the hate, Eve Torres turning heel or something along those lines. We just don’t really know at this point.

But, even if Ryder is gone to film some sort of TV show or movie, his write-off could not have come at a better time.
