The New England Patriots will meet the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI in just 10 days, which has many sports books in a rush to create entertaining proposition wagers.

Bovada sports book has just released five future specials that combine the Patriots lifting the Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 5  with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney winning the 2012 Presidential election or another area sports team capturing a championship this year.

Let's take a closer look at these five offerings from a betting perspective.

Patriots Win Super Bowl XLVI and Celtics Win the 2012 NBA Championship

The New England Patriots are currently three-point favorites over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, while the Boston Celtics look their age in the early going of the 2011-12 NBA season.

Oddsmakers have sent out an attractive number that may entice the casual fan to lay down a wager, but I'm certainly not recommending one.

Patriots Win Super Bowl XLVI and Red Sox Win the 2012 World Series

The Boston Red Sox are currently +1,000 to win the 2012 World Series, which gives this offering a little value when pairing them up with the New England Patriots.

I'd be a little concerned that last year's regular-season meltdown carries over into the early portion of the 2012 campaign, especially with former general manager Theo Epstein in Chicago.

A nice price for the casual fan.

Betting Odds: +1,800

Patriots Win Super Bowl XLVI and Bruins Win the 2012 Stanley Cup

The Boston Bruins certainly have the ability to repeat as Stanley Cup champions this year, which is reflected in the current betting odds for this offering.

Boston has outscored opponents by 69 goals this season through 47 games, sitting atop the Northeast division in the Eastern Conference standings.

It's very hard to repeat in any sport—just ask the Green Bay Packers.

Patriots Win Super Bowl XLVI and Mitt Romney Becomes the Republican Candidate

There's very little value in this offering due to the potential of the New England Patriots losing to the New York Giants on Feb. 5—let alone the possibility of Mitt Romney not gaining the Republican nomination.

Some will argue that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady would go off at lesser betting odds if he stopped taking snaps under center and ran for public office.

Not at this price, especially with the Patriots being -145 on the moneyline to win Super Bowl XLVI in straight-up fashion.

Patriots Win Super Bowl XLVI and Mitt Romney Wins the 2012 Presidential Election

If you believe that the New England Patriots will gain revenge against the New York Giants next Sunday and the Republicans will upset Barack Obama in the 2012 Presidential Election, then this proposition offering is for you.

The Democratic Party is a -155 favorite to win the election, which is similar to the current betting odds for the Patriots (-145) to win the Super Bowl on the moneyline.

For the adventurous type, but you might want to parlay the Patriots with the Red Sox instead.
