PSG Begin Carlos Tevez Talks

Joe LazarJan 25, 2012

A new tale comes about in the protracted transfer saga surrounding Carlos Tevez. Almost every major club in Europe and in South America has been linked with the Manchester City striker, but a move has yet to appear on the horizon.

French club PSG are the latest to open negotiations with Manchester City. PSG recently appointed former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is a well-known admirer of Carlos Tevez.

He even tried to sign the Argentine while he was at Chelsea, and it seems that he is now getting ready for his second attempt at him. He probably sees the better side of Tevez, whereas others see the troubled child in him.

Carlo Ancelotti is widely known to be the manager who can interact with and bring out the best from players with large egos.

However, he failed to suppress the ego of Didier Drogba in his last job, and only time will tell if he will be any better at handling Tevez.

History tells us that Tevez will give his absolute best for any new club, but only for a period of about two years. Then talks of a potential transfer will inevitably begin.

Maybe, PSG and Carlo Ancelotti are looking at utilising these two years in the same way Manchester City did.

There can be no denying the fact that Tevez was crucial to Manchester City's current position. It is ultimately where PSG want to be in the next few years. Since money is not an object for PSG and their Qatari owners, it is not going to be a stumbling block in the deal.

Manchester City rejected a Ł21 million offer from Inter Milan, but are likely to accept a bid of around Ł25 million. The ball is now in Carlos Tevez' court.
