Ohio State Football Recruiting: Urban Meyer Will Dominate Signing Day Decisions
Urban Meyer won two BCS National Championships at Florida in only six seasons in Gainesville.
The 47-year-old coach is a dominant college football coach with a dynamic offense and enough charm to clean every trophy in a top recruit's living room while convincing him to come to whichever school Meyer is at.
Nowadays, that school happens to Ohio State, and that comes with a recruiting mystique of its own.
No program works or spends the amount of money the Buckeyes do on a yearly basis to compete, and now they have a coach who can turn things around in a hurry.
Come National Signing Day, Meyer's presence and potential to put Ohio State in title contention for the foreseeable future will dominate close decisions.
Meyer has already made a big splash, as the Buckeyes currently have 23 commits. Obviously, that number could still fluctuate for better or worse, but for the better they could land somewhere around 27-28 recruits.
Tops among those still on the line with interest in the Buckeyes include five-star athlete Davonte Neal, four-star receiver Stefon Diggs, four-star defensive back Demetrious Cox, four-star offensive tackle Jordan Diamond, four-star athlete Armani Reeves and three-star offensive tackle Kyle Dodson.
Athletic dynamos and offensive skill players that lack size but excel with speed mix extremely well with Urban Meyer.
Ohio State won't be the choice for all, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Meyer land the recruits he desperately wants to help build his program.
Don't surprised if he lands a few more big-time talents on Signing Day.
