Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: War of Words Continues as Freddie Roach Blasts Floyd

Floyd Mayweather has made a living by talking trash about anyone and everything walking the earth. Manny Pacquiao doesn't get involved in all the talk, but the people in his camp have done their share of it whenever "Money" bashes Pac-Man. 

Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach is the latest one to get involved in the verbal back and forth. In an interview with Keith Idec of Boxing Scene, Roach said that Mayweather's cowardice won't allow him to accept a fight with Pacquiao.

"Typical Mayweather," Roach said. "He doesn't want to fight us. He's been running for two years now. What's new?"

"He's scared. He doesn't want to take a chance. He wants that zero so bad on his record, so that he can say he's better than Sugar Ray Robinson and all these great fighters, because he's never lost. Losing makes you a better fighter. He's not better than those other fighters and he never will be."

Is there anyone out there who doesn't think that Mayweather is just ducking Pacquiao at this point? Considering how much money would be on the table if these two ever did agree to a fight, agreeing to a 50-50 split should not be holding this superfight up. 

Mayweather talks a big game, but when push comes to shove he can't do anything that might damage his sterling reputation in the ring.

It drives Mayweather nuts that analysts say Pacquiao is better than he is, which should be all the more reason to make the fight. But therein lies the problem, because Mayweather can't take that chance. 

Roach is not saying anything that we don't already know. Perhaps it will help to push Mayweather over the edge and agree to the 50-50 purse split, but in all likelihood he will just reply with some crack about Roach's career or Pacquiao on drugs and the talking will continue. 

There is no more reason for these two sides to keep talking. They have nothing new to say, and whenever anyone on either side opens their mouth it frustrates fans. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather are teasing us, and until they decide to fight each other, they need to keep their mouths shut.
