Remember back when WWE actually used to care about building angles and stories for a big payoff at the pay-per-view? When matches actually meant something? When not everything came off as goofy comedy?
Those were fun times, but if you saw last night's Raw, you got a look at the absolute worst of WWE booking and building for an event.
Perhaps we shouldn't be expecting more from the company considering how long this kind of thing has been going on, but we hold out hope because we like Vince McMahon ruining our days.

REY MYSTERIO SHOOTING FOR WRESTLEMANIA RETURN
It has been a long time since we have seen Mysterio wrestle due to serious knee injuries that required surgery, but he is doing YouTube videos, a la Zack Ryder, talking about when he might return.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who would Mysterio's WrestleMania opponent be?
Our Take: You should be asking about opponents, because it makes sense to put him in the Money In the Bank match. With more wrestlers to work with, Mysterio won't be required to do as much on his own as he would in a singles match.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Booyakas
Mysterio's return will be a welcome addition to the still-weak roster in WWE. He might even be due for a good push since it will likely be his last significant run in the company before he hangs up his mask forever.

WHAT IS "THE END OF THE WORLD?"
Chris Jericho finally spoke after three weeks of build and anticipation to say that this Sunday would be "The end of the world as we know it." It was a nice call back to the videos, which some fans feel misled them about what his character would be.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What does that mean?
Our Take: Jericho is going to find a way to go full heel at the Royal Rumble, which will likely lead to him winning the match. It is obviously the direction he is going, so why not do it in style on one of the biggest shows of the year.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Highlight Reel Segments
This build for Jericho's return has been terrific because there was a clear plan for it, and WWE has let it play out over the last three weeks leading into the Rumble. Now, almost all of our questions will be answered over the next seven days.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TRIPLE H'S RETURN?
It appears that we are at the end of the John Laurinaitis reign as interim general manager of Raw. With Triple H coming back, it does open up some possibilities. Of course, last time he was a regular character, it was a disaster of epic proportions.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who will be the next Raw general manager?
Our Take: There is no reason to think that WWE even knows at this point. Triple H will probably take over again until Vince McMahon decides he wants to come back to television.

With CM Punk finally getting his hands on Johnny Ace, there is nothing left for the Laurinaitis character to do. Perhaps they are building to a match, which will be a disaster for everyone involved.

EVAN BOURNE'S WWE TENURE OVER?
As soon as Bourne was suspended for another Wellness Policy violation, speculation about his future in WWE started. A new report claims that the chances of him being brought back are slim right now.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What will become of Bourne?
Our Take: He will have his choice of employers, starting with TNA and Ring of Honor. It would be in his best interest to go to ROH, but TNA might be able to offer him a bit more money. Of course, the odds of him being used by that place are about as good as his odds of going back to WWE.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Air Bournes
It is depressing to think that Bourne may not return to WWE, but at least he will be able to go do his own thing and be used in a more effective way than he has been in the past.
