Baltimore Ravens Prediction: Hue Jackson Will Be the Next Offensive Coordinator

Old AccountJun 5, 2018

The Baltimore Ravens enter the offseason on a disappointing note after losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

Over the next few months, the biggest moves will be made on the offensive side of the football. The Ravens want to bring back running back Ray Rice and guard Ben Grubbs. Joe Flacco is also seeking a new contract.

However, the first transaction that will be made is the hiring of a new offensive coordinator. Cam Cameron's contract is up at the end of the season, and he is not expected to return.

Thus, it only makes sense to bring back former Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson as the new offensive coordinator.

Before leaving for the Raiders, Jackson was the quarterback coach for Joe Flacco in his first two years.

Now, Jackson should be in prime position to take over an offense that can shine under a new coordinator.

Cameron's tenure as the offensive coordinator grew tiresome quickly in Baltimore. Not only was his play-calling too predictable the last few seasons, but his relationship with Flacco worsened over the years.

The offense needs a fresh start, and there is no reason why it shouldn't be under Jackson. With Jackson, the Raiders were a top-10 offense this season despite the injury to Darren McFadden.

He managed to create a high-flying offense with average quarterbacks in Jason Campbell and Carson Palmer, while working with a young group of wide receivers.

Jackson could take over a young Ravens offense that is continuing to take strides as a unit each season. It's clear that Cameron is not the answer for the Ravens as offensive coordinator.

The potential for the Ravens to become a potent offense is there. It's time for Hue Jackson to take the reins as the play-caller for this offense.
