Report: Chip Kelly on Brink of Leaving Oregon Ducks; Heading to Tampa Bay

Over the past few hours, the social media world has been set on fire with the idea that Chip Kelly has had meetings with the Tampa Bay officials, and KGW out of Portland is saying he is closing in on a deal with the Buccaneers to make him their new head coach. 

While there is no deal in place, reports are that the Bucs and Kelly are on a path to have a deal done in the next 24-48 hours. 

In the meantime, Oregon fans are left to wonder what is going on and what the future holds.

For the past three years, the offseason has not been kind to the Ducks, and yet they seem to not miss a beat on the field, but losing Kelly would likely be a setback for Oregon no matter how you slice it. 

With news first that LaMichael James and then Darron Thomas would be leaving Eugene, Oregon still had the belief that Chip Kelly would be able to plug and play athletes into his offense and keep churning out the points. Now with Kelly on the brink of leaving, that idea is in question.

Along with wondering what may be effected on the field, the question of what may be going on off the field has to be brought up. Based on what Kelly has said and the values he has placed on this program, you have to wonder if the NCAA investigation turned up anything. 

Until the contract is signed, fans and players are left to wait and wonder what the Oregon Ducks football program will look like when football is kicked off again in September.
