WWE Week in Review: The Injury Report, Who's out and Who's In?

Kaleb KelchnerJun 3, 2018

The physicality of "sports entertainment" makes for, at times, a hazardous work environment.  Injures are a fact of life in the WWE, and there were no shortage of incidents this past week.

Multiple reports came out yesterday that Ted DiBiase was injured at a WWE house show.

According to recent reports, WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase may have suffered an injury during his match with Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship at the live event in Winnipeg on Friday night.

Live reports from the show claim DiBiase suffered an apparent arm injury, prompting the referee to throw up the "X" sign, calling for help to get DiBiase to the back.

"

A much larger SmackDown Superstar may have suffered an injury this week as well, and could potentially change the heavyweight title picture in the coming weeks.

Wrestleinc.com breaks it down:

"

The Big Show reportedly suffered a back injury at last night's WWESmackDown tapings in Las Vegas. According to early reports, he landed wrong and hurt his back against Daniel Bryan in the dark match main event.

"

Of course, in the scripted world of the WWE, not all injuries are as serious as they appear.  Randy Orton has been out with a "back injury" according to the WWE, but according to PWTorch, it appears he may be making his return to SmackDown just prior to the Royal Rumble, which takes place in his hometown of St. Louis.

What say you, Bleachers?  Was Randy Orton's back injury legitimate, or scripted?
