WWE News: Injury Updates on Mark Henry and Big Show Heading into Royal Rumble

You know what the WWE really canโ€™t afford at the moment? Another injury.ย

The company has been hit hard by the injury bug over the last several months and is already without a number of its top stars, from Randy Orton to Rey Mysterio to Christian to Alberto Del Rio.ย

Unfortunately, two SmackDown main-eventers arenโ€™t 100 percent either, and they just so happen to be competing in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Sundayโ€™s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.ย

Donโ€™t worry, though, because weโ€™ve got the latest update on their injury status and health going into the PPV.ย

"

After tweaking his back at last Tuesdayโ€™s SmackDown tapings, Big Show appears to be fine as he worked this weekendโ€™s live events against Daniel Bryan.ย

Mark Henry was advertised for triple threats against Bryan and Show but did not appear due to a groin injury.ย

While it looks like Big Show is almost fully healthy, it appears that Henry may have suffered yet another setback from a groin injury thatโ€™s hampered him for more than a month now.ย

It was that injury that led to Henry dropping the World Heavyweight Championship, and unfortunately for him, it looks like itโ€™s still bothering him at least somewhat. Itโ€™s obviously not an ideal time for Henry to be hurting because heโ€™s got a high-profile match at Sundayโ€™s pay-per-view, but thereโ€™s no doubt that the WWE will find ways to work around it.ย

Iโ€™d expect Henry to be rather limited in what he does in the ring at the Royal Rumble, which is probably one of the reasons why the match was made a Triple Threat and will take place in a steel cage in the first place.ย

Those two stipulations should allow Henry to โ€œtake it easyโ€ in the World Heavyweight title bout, while Big Show and Daniel Bryan work a majority of the match.ย

Thatโ€™s OK, though, because we all know that Bryan is one of the few wrestlers around who can carry not one, but two big men to an enjoyable match, and Iโ€™d expect him to do just that on Sunday.ย

It looks like Henry might slowly be turning baby face, too, so donโ€™t be surprised to see Bryan take him out in cheap fashion early on in order to accelerate Henryโ€™s apparent face turn.
