Jerome Simpson Indicted for Trafficking Marijuana, Could Face Jail Time
The star of the NFL's most exciting play of the year could be heading to jail.
Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer informs us via twitter that wide receiver Jerome Simpson was just indicted for marijuana trafficking.
The fourth-year pro turned in the best season of his career in 2011, including a highlight reel catch that ESPN still plays to this day.

What It Means?
According to Reedy, the offense is a Class D felony punishable for up one-to-five years.
The offense took place over four months ago where, according of Jim Hannah of the Kentucky Enquirer, federal authorities:
"seized a package containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana from California that had been shipped to his residence. Inside the home investigators also found about six more pounds of pot, scales and smoking devices.
"
The Bengals wide receiver recently finished out his rookie contract and is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason.
What Happens Next?
Simpson had elevated to a starting role with the Bengals, but many felt he was not going to return next season because he would seek bigger money.
He came to national fame late in the year with his highlight catch, run and flip into the endzone.
Now he'll have a hard time commanding big money on the open market and could very well return to the Bengals on the cheap.
If and when he'll serve any jail time is still to be determined.
Always chuckin' the rock on Twitter too.
