WWE Royal Rumble 2012: Who Was the Best Rumble Winner on January 19th?

Chris HumphreyJan 19, 2012

Unlike my first article, I found that January 19th has been a very busy day for the Royal Rumble over the years. Four events have taken place in the 24-year history of the event, with pay-per-views in 1991, 1992, 1997 and 2003.

With four separate Rumble winners from the past two decades, which of those superstars had the most impressive victory in the WWE's first stop on the road to WrestleMania in the spring?

Royal Rumble 1991: Hulk Hogan

1 of 5

After winning the Royal Rumble from the No. 25 draw the year before, Hulk Hogan entered the 1991 match one draw earlier at No. 24 and went on to become the first of three superstars to win more than one Rumble during a superstar's career in the WWE.

Royal Rumble 1992: Ric Flair

2 of 5

In the fifth edition of the Royal Rumble, the Nature Boy survived the match after entering the match with the No. 3 draw. Flair, with the help of Hulk Hogan from the outside, eliminated Sid Vicious to become the only superstar to win the Rumble to become the new WWE Champion in 1992.

Royal Rumble 1997: Stone Cold Steve Austin

3 of 5

Even though it was a tainted Rattlesnake victory in the 1997 Royal Rumble, Steve Austin's performance was one of the best in the history of the Rumble. Stone Cold entered the match with the No. 5 draw and eliminated a then record-tying 10 superstars, shared by Hulk Hogan before the mark was broken by Kane in the 2001 Royal Rumble.

Royal Rumble 2003: Brock Lesnar

In the final Royal Rumble event to take place on January 19th through the years, Brock Lesnar won the 2003 Rumble later than any of the other three superstars before him, at No. 29. The "Next Big Thing" went on to defeat Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX to become WWE Champion for a second time.

Who Was the Best Royal Rumble Winner of Those Four Years?

So, out of the four superstars who claimed their place in Royal Rumble history over the years, who do you think was the best Rumble winner between Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin or Brock Lesnar?
