Arsenal vs Manchester United: Red Devils Will Get a Statement Win

Manchester United is going to keep their recent momentum going with a big win over Arsenal.

This is a vital match for both teams with the EPL campaign running to a close. The Red Devils trail City by three points for first. Meanwhile, Arsenal is in fifth and trails United by 12 points.

This is going to be a well-played game, but in the end, the Red Devils are going to overwhelm the Gunners.

Looking Back at the Embarrassment

United embarrassed Arsenal earlier in the campaign by the tune of an 8-2 victory. That match was as lopsided as the score suggested, but it certainly doesn't mean the outcome will be the same this time.

That was a turning point for Arsenal, and they have vastly improved since then.

Still, the Gunners have some serious work to do before they can be considered serious contenders or before they have the firepower to compete with a Red Devils squad that is at their best.

Red Devils Momentum

Manchester United was hitting panic mode at the start of the new year. They lost back-to-back games. The first was a lackluster effort against to the Blackburn Rovers on Dec. 31, and the second was a 3-0 drubbing to the Bolton Wanderers on Jan. 4.

Those losses appear to have served as a wake-up call. The Red Devils ended their losing streak with a 3-0 over Manchester City in the FA Cup, and then returned the favor to Bolton with a 3-0 win of their own.

During this mini-winning streak, the Devils have begun to find their scoring ways, and those ways are going to overwhelm Arsenal.

Arsenal's Hollow Stats

On the surface, the Gunners are a great team at home. They have won seven of their 10 home Premier League matches, and in those 10 games, they have conceded just six goals.

However, dig a little deeper, and you'll see those numbers do not indicate future success.

Seventh-place Liverpool is the highest-ranked team the Gunners have played at home, and they easily handled Arsenal, 2-0.

The Gunners have not played a team at home this campaign with Red Devils kind of firepower, and they will not be able to handle it.
