Trooper Taylor Hiring Confirmed by Auburn
Auburn, AL—Former Oklahoma State and now Auburn running backs coach Curtis Luper stated that he was recruiting Trooper Taylor to the Auburn coaching staff. Obviously, he was successful. It's expected that Auburn will officially release a statement confirming the hiring later today.
Taylor, who was OSU's co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach, will apparently coach wide receivers for the Tigers.
Trooper Taylor is another solid hire for Gene Chizik, as the new Auburn head coach looks to continue the trend of bringing excellent coach and recruiter combinations to the plains. Those who doubted Chizik's leadership early on obviously underestimated the man.
In early 2008, Taylor joined the Cowboys staff as co-offensive coordinator. He served as assistant head coach/player development/wide receivers coach at the University of Tennessee, where he served on the staff from 2004 to 2007.
Nationally known as a successful and relentless recruiter, Taylor was recognized by Rivals.com as a top-25 recruiter in 2005 and 2007.
