Tiger Woods Avoids Tebowing; It Will Be Tony and the Tiger at Pebble Beach

Tiger Woods and Tim Tebow?

Oh come now.

That's as far apart, philosophically, as the north and south poles.

There will be no Tebowing at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It's Tony and the Tiger—Romo and Woods. That makes a lot more sense if you really think about it.

Think about it for a moment.

You have Tim Tebow, the man who as overtaken Woods as America's favorite athlete. He's the guy who would rather spend his time with children and adults dealing with major health problems; he's the guy we all know as "God's quarterback."

On the other hand, you have Woods, who only mentions God when there's a "dammit" added to it.

I'm not sure how well that would have gone over with his Tebowness.

We also now know that Tebow got beat up pretty badly in that loss to the Patriots. He tore rib cartilage, damaged a lung and had fluid build-up.

The guy needs to rest.

On the other hand, Romo is pretty high profile considering he never has appeared in a Super Bowl. He does date a lot of fancy women, so that should sit very well with Woods. He would happily take a few of them off Romo's hands.

No, Woods and Tebow wasn't a good match. You have Tebow, who flew ailing children to his games and met with them before and after the game; and then you have Woods, who has made a habit of blowing off the simplest of autograph seekers.

No, Woods didn't want to follow the Tebow act. There would have been Tebow saying, "yes" to every autograph request. There would have been Tebow, readily posing for pictures, talking to children and simply being Tim.

There would have been Tiger, simply being Tiger.

"Leave me the heck alone."

I don't know how this Tiger and Tebow stuff started.

But, it was never really going to happen.

After all, oil and water simply do not mix.
