Hakeem Nicks Video: Watch Giants WR Show off with Vikings' Legend Cris Carter
Hakeem Nicks has hands the size of an NBA power forward's. But matched against one of the NFL's all-time best pairs of hands, Cris Carter, who has the best mitts?
Well, ESPN gave us a small glimpse as Cris Carter conducted a short interview with Hakeem Nicks and Eli Manning about Nicks' pass catching prowess, followed by a little exhibition. The feature was of course, on the heels of Nicks' outstanding performance against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoff round.
Nicks had seven catches for 165 yards and two TDs. One was an insane Hail Mary catch at the end of the first half that gave the Giants great momentum.
After the talking was done in the interview, Carter took Nicks on the practice field and the two played a football version of knockout. Stand still pass catching was the skill on display.
Carter still has the hands that made him an eight time Pro-Bowl selection. The ultimate test came when Carter performed an impressive one hand swipe of a approaching pass with minimal effort.
He challenged Nicks to do the same. Nicks accepted that challenge and the man with the 4X hands passed with flying colors.
The next time you think you have what it takes to be an NFL receiver, beyond the route running, speed and toughness required, see if you can snag footballs out of the air like these two.
Giants fans hope, Nicks saves some of these receptions for Sunday at the San Francisco 49ers.
