Wes ODonnellJan 17, 2012

The top 10 seeded women at the 2012 Australian Open have already taken a hit with No. 6 seed Samantha Stosur falling in the first round.

The second round gets underway tonight (EST time) at Melbourne Park and more than a few of the ladies have something to prove already.

Here are some of the top matches to look forward to on Day Three in the women's singles bracket.

Caroline Wozniacki (No. 1) vs. Anna Tatishvili

The No. 1 seeded Dane is always at threat to stumble somewhere along the line. Her first round performance was solid, but she'll be tested by the 21-year-old Tatishvili from Georgia.

Wozniacki would love to put together a solid outing as things will only get tougher for her as she goes along.

Remember, lurking in her bracket are 13th-seeded Jelena Jankovic, 11th-seeded and defending champion Kim Clijsters and fifth-seeded Li Na.

Speaking of Kim Clijsters...

Kim Clijsters (No. 11) vs. Stephanie Foretz Gacon

The Aussie Open's defending champion is, yet again, not entirely healthy.

She put together a good performance in the first round, but she is also always at risk of falling to mediocre play as well.

A win here will likely match up Clijsters with No. 20 seed, Daniela Hantuchova.

Victoria Azarenka (No. 3) vs. Casey Dellacqua

The 22-year-old Azarenka was dominant in the first round surrendering only one game. Dellacqua, a native Australian, is also playing in the women's doubles tournament.

Azarenka can really put herself on quite a roll heading into the third round with another dominating win here.
