WWE Raw: New WWE Tag Team Champions and Time for Rosa Mendes to Shine

As most know by now, WWE crowned new WWE tag team champions over the weekend! The run of Air Boom at the top of the division is over. Remember who predicted the name "Air Boom" a week before WWE did?

Epico and Primo defeated Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne to win the titles. It is not the first time a belt has changed hands during a non-televised event. It certainly won't be the last time either!

I like this move for a few reason. Here are a couple why:

1. Name me the last time Air Boom had a tag match on Raw. Or Smackdown. Keep thinking...

Got it yet? That is my point. The layoff from Bourne all but destroyed their momentum, and it will be hard to get that back. The big win over the summer was a great moment. Sadly, one member of the team caused a quick downfall for them.

2. I like Primo as a performer. I have not seen enough of Epico, so I can't comment on his abilities. When Carlito had his issues years ago, it would have been really easy for Primo to follow his path. It would have been really easy for him to walk out the door with Carlito.

The age old excuses of "not being used right" or "not pushed" or being "unhappy with my spot" would have been said. It never surprises me. Luckily, Primo stuck it out. Just like so many did.

Patience is a virtue folks! Not everybody has it. Some want everything "now, now, now," and that is fine. In some cases, it works. In other cases, it just isn't worth it.

Primo stayed with WWE through the thick and thin and is getting his due now. He is once again a tag team champion, and his run has been fun to watch thus far.

3. Finally, Rosa Mendes is a star. I have said it from day one. She is the star of the team, and all she does is stand at ringside during their matches. She is the real star here!

Watch the videos from the weekend of Primo and Epic winning the straps. Watch the match. Watch the interview afterwards. What sticks out? Who captures your attention? For me, it is Rosa!

Just like Melina in "MNM," she is the star here. It certainly wasn't John Morrison or Joey Mercury. Let's hope Rosa takes a different path than them moving forward...

For now, the tag team division in WWE is exactly where it was months ago. One great team on top, while a couple other pairs are looking for their time to shine. Right now, it is Rosa Mendes' time!

My three "it" girls are all doing a wonderful job in WWE.

Aksana is getting television time on a regular basis on Smackdown. Alicia Fox has been winning left and right, while her title match is sure to be right around the corner. Lastly, Rosa Mendes has found gold with Primo and Epico in the tag scene.

Excellent way to kick off the week!
