Even since Bourne's return, Air Boom has not exactly been a fixture of WWE television.
Does the WWE creative team think Epico and Primo are a better pair of horses to ride, or is this just a blink of a title reign that will end on an upcoming Raw?
It appears to simply be a cheap way to try and drudge up interest in the tag division. Title changes are the easiest feud catalysts.
The problem is, no one cares. Epico and Primo have appeared so infrequently that fans do not know them or have any attachment to them.
We were barely getting into the Air Boom era.
Epico and Primo have the speed and agility to make their matches with Air Boom fast-paced, thrilling affairs, but we need a compelling reason to want them not to win.
WWE needs to give us a clearer idea of who these guys are, their motivations, the layers of their persona.
The issue with the tag team division as a whole is that other than Air Boom, they are very few teams anyone has any interest in.
The Usos are obviously talented, but aren't quite over with most crowds.
The R-Truth and Miz ended way too soon. They could have helped bring back legitimacy and excitement to tag team matches.
WWE is hoping that Epico and Primo can play foils to Air Boom, but more work needs to be done. A title change is not nearly enough.
