NFL Playoff Schedule 2012: Tom Brady Will Continue Epic Play Against Ravens

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

Tom Brady is easily one of the best playoff performers of all time in the NFL, and he will continue his streak of excellence against the Baltimore Ravens.

That may seem like quite a tall order to fill, especially considering that the Ravens have arguably the best defense in the league, but if there's a quarterback that's up to the task, it's Brady.

This is the same quarterback who put up 5,235 yards and 39 touchdowns on the season en route to leading his team to a 13-3 record and the top spot in the AFC Playoffs.

This is also the same quarterback who went 26-of-34 for 363 yards, six touchdowns and one interception in a 45-10 rout of the Tim Tebow-led Broncos.

Like I said, if there's a quarterback up to the task, it's Brady.

This is a very good Ravens defense, though, so it's not going to be an easy task.

They ranked fourth in the NFL in passing yards against with 196.3 and second in the league against the run with an average of 92.6 rush yards given up per game.

They have one of the best linebackers of all time in Ray Lewis and one of the best safeties of all time in Ed Reed. Sure, they may be getting old, but there is no doubting that they still have what it takes to play big and make an impact.

So, with all that in mind, how will Brady put up big numbers against this defense?

Looks for the tight ends to be key in this game, as they have been all season long for the Patriots.

Rob Gronkowski may be having one of the best years ever from a tight end, as he finished the regular season with 1,327 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also notched 145 yards and three touchdowns against the Broncos.

Expect him to be huge yet again.

Add to that another stellar tight end in Aaron Hernandez and wideout Wes Welker, who can make plays all over the field, and the Patriots have far too many weapons for the Ravens to start.

I expect this to be a great game, but in the end Tom Brady is going to continue his epic play and lead the Patriots to a win.
