Baltimore Ravens: It's "Ravenstown" in Baltimore, the City's Song

Barry BarnesJun 7, 2018

A year ago, Baltimore Ravens fans were treated to a special treat—a song they could call their own.

“Ravenstown”

Ravens fever is spread all over the Baltimore metropolitan area with purple lights on buildings and homes and over 50 painted Raven logos scattered over the city, with the approval of the organization.

However, something was missing for Ravens fans to separate their love for their hometown team from other cities who share the similar affection for their town’s squad.

"Ravenstown" the Music Video

A few hardcore fans in the music industry from the Baltimore area took matters into their own hands a year ago, as their love and passion for the Ravens moved them to create a song for the city and the team.

Associate producer Frank Johnson of Task Force Marketing, producer Jarrod Barnes and associate producer Teron Matthews were able to get recording artists Paula Campbell, Baltimore Ray, SMASH, and Bossman (who all reached national success on some level) to record "Ravenstown."

“Ravenstown” has pumped the airwaves in Baltimore since the playoffs started. The Ravens’ organization has not claimed the song as their own, but appreciate the hardwork and dedication to support the purple and gold.

Ravens’ fans were hoping to ride “Ravenstown” all the way to the Super Bowl last season, until the Steelers raided their parade in the 2010 AFC Divisional-Round on Jan. 15, 2010, in Pittsburgh, as they lost to the black and yellow, 31-24.

Well, the Ravens are back in the playoffs, for the fourth straight time, and “Ravenstown” continues to pump through the speakers and the music video is generating hit after hit on YouTube.

"We were inspired to make 'Ravenstown' for the Baltimore Ravens and fans to show support for our team as the Ravens embark on their fourth consecutive playoff run for a second Super Bowl," said Matthews. "There are thousands of fans that should appreciate our players and coaches hard work. It seems that their hard work on and off the field generated some creative juices in us to record the record and make the video.”
