Tiki Barber Is Owed Nothing by Tom Coughlin and Shouldn't Expect a Meeting

Tiki Barber’s doctor never told him that a side-effect of the fumblitis cure is becoming a moron.

The former New York Giants running back is supposedly attempting to set up a meeting to reconcile with Tom Coughlin, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Barber is trying to persuade the coach to bring him back.  Either way, Barber shouldn’t expect Coughlin to have an open time slot in his weekly planner to meet.

According to ESPN’s Mike Mazzeo, Barber told ESPN New York 1050 that, up to this point, the two sides have failed to set up a meeting saying:

“We tried.  He said no, through his agent, (Giants vice president of communications) Pat Hanlon.  But one of these days I'm sure it'll happen, because as we know, time heals all wounds.  

"And I think at the end of the day, Giants fans, despite their dislike of me at times, know that I was one of the guys that put (it) on the line every time I put on my uniform.”

Aw, poor Tiki.

I wonder if Barber will write another Coughlin diss if he never gets his meeting.  Barber went on to complain: “I took pride in what I did.  I knew there were 52 other guys counting on me every week.  One issue I've ever had with Tom is he never respected that.  He always tried to vilify me.”

Barber isn’t exactly on the list of the world’s most difficult people to vilify.  He left his pregnant wife for a younger girlfriend.  Barber compared himself to Anne Frank after living in an attic to avoid negative attention.

Tiki is the reason why Coughlin has cracked a smile just two times in his entire life: when the Giants won the Super Bowl and on his wedding day. 

But in all seriousness, Coughlin owes nothing to the player who has repeatedly criticized him for being too tough of a football coach.
