WWE Rumors: Randy Orton, CM Punk, Vince McMahon and Monday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

WWE is definitely in a holding pattern. The main events are riddled with nothing but goofy comedy, and the talented stars on the lower portion of the card are getting buried because they aren't John Cena or Randy Orton

Things could be changing slightly over the next two weeks with the Royal Rumble approaching. Whatever happens, let's just hope that the storylines get better and the matches are at least made to look like they matter.

We will have all the latest news, notes and information from WWE, including a house show title change.

RANDY ORTON'S RETURN DELAYED AGAIN

Despite earlier reports that Orton would be appearing at house shows this week, WWE has pulled him from all events this week. As of right now, he is still scheduled to appear on Raw the week before the Royal Rumble.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Orton actually work on the Rumble go-home show?

Our Take: It doesn't make sense to me. If WWE wants him to serve as the surprise entrant in this year's Rumble, why bring him back to television just days before the show? I guess they could do something about how his back is still in bad shape and he won't be able to do anything, then put him in the match.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Top-Rope RKOs

WWE loves to send mixed signals out on everything, so true to form no one really knows what to expect from Orton when he does return. We know it is going to happen at the Rumble, but whether he wins or not is up in the air right now.

VINCE MCMAHON BURIES CM PUNK

Despite initial reports saying that he would be allowed to walk Chael Sonnen down to the ring at the UFC on Fox show January 28, CM Punk felt the wrath of Vince McMahon and was told to sit on the couch if he wanted to watch the show. Probably not in those words, but would you be surprised?

Question on Everybody's Mind: Why does Vince hate CM Punk?

Our Take: He is a person that speaks openly and freely about anything he wants. He is a fan of mixed martial arts and Chael Sonnen, but Vinny Mac hates the sport and doesn't want his champion showing up on a UFC show.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Epic Promos That Punk and Sonnen Would Cut

While I feel bad that Punk won't be able to walk Sonnen down to the ring, it is not really a surprise. McMahon rarely allows his talent to appear at events that are not going to make him money.

WWE LEGENDS HOUSE APPARENTLY HAS THREE ROOMMATES

Despite the WWE Network not having any executives working for it, nor does it have an official launch date anymore, the "Legends House" is going to have Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes and the Iron Sheik living in it, according to Stephanie McMahon.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Can we get some early footage of that trio?

Our Take: I don't know, but it does make me want to see the network launch even if it isn't ready. If you think that the promos in WWE today suck, just watch Piper, Rhodes and Sheik riff on each other for an hour. Suck wouldn't begin to describe the crap we hear every week on Raw.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Real Legends

There are no words to describe how awesome this show will be, assuming Mrs. Triple H is telling the truth about who is participating in it.

HOUSE SHOW TAG TITLE CHANGE

In an actual noteworthy event at a house show on Sunday, Epico and Primo beat Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne to win the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What did Kofi and Evan do now?

Our Take: Since WWE doesn't care about the tag team championships, the fact that Kofi and Evan lost shouldn't be seen as a red flag. It could be a sign of burials coming, but for now let's try to keep things positive.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Title Changes That No One Sees

I was always a fan of WWE changing titles at house shows, just because it added some level of intrigue to a show that you wouldn't otherwise get. It won't happen much, but every now and then is okay.

WWE TRIES TO HOLD DOWN RIC FLAIR

When Ric Flair talks, people listen. The first time he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he talked for well over an hour. Now he is being told that this time around he can only talk for seven minutes.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What could possibly be left for Flair to say?

Our Take: Don't act like you aren't interested in ALL of Flair's stories. He has lived a life that would have killed a lesser man four times. He could honestly fill a three-hour pay-per-view and still have plenty to talk about when it was over.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Right to Censor Buzzers

Flair is one of the greatest characters in the history of wrestling, and the fact that he gets to talk on WWE television for people to see one more time is great. (I know he is in TNA, but no one watches or cares about that show.)
