College Basketball Recap: Duke Wins, UNC Loses

As of tonight the Duke Blue Devils pulled off their first ACC win of the season by beating Virginia Tech (9-5). Duke played their best ball near the end of the second half after a sluggish first half. Duke only went into halftime with an eight-point lead (39-31), but the second half started off bad.

Duke watched their lead slip away as the Hokies slowly gained on them. The score was down to four before Coach K called a timeout to tell Duke of their mistakes. After a very crucial timeout Duke came out fired and up and pulled away from the Hokies on what seemed like a good game at the time.

Duke pressured the ball and created turnovers from what was a solid Virginia Tech team. Duke moved the ball well and finally started hitting not only their outside shots, but the inside ones as well. Duke's offensive rebounding was much better, they finished on four different possessions in the second half by getting their offensive boards.

Duke finished off the Hokies mid-way through the second half, with the final score being 69-44. Virginia Tech had 31 in the first half, and only 13 in the second. Duke now moves to 12-1 and hosts a very good Davidson team on Wednesday. Let's go Duke!

Today UNC fell to an unranked Boston College team who came into the game at 12-2. The eagles who were led by Tyrese Rice in this game came into Chapel Hill and knocked off the number one team in the nation.

Tyrese Rice dropped 25 while Rakim Sanders added 22. Boston College had a six point lead at half, and got it to as many as 15 in the second half until UNC used a quick rally to shrink the lead. But in the end the Eagles were too much for the Tar Heels as UNC drops their first ACC game of the season as well as their first regular season game.

I don't know if this will be correct, but it is my prediction on what should happen.
