Manchester City Transfer Rumours: 6 Latest Names Linked to the Citizens

Sam TigheJun 7, 2018

We're in the middle of January and Manchester City have been unusually quiet.

What's going on? Surely there's a signing just around the corner.

Take a look at six players who have been linked to the Blues this month and see if you think they'd make decent additions to Roberto Mancini's squad full of talent.

Enjoy the slideshow!

Nathan Redmond

Manchester City are still looking to the future and they're still looking for British additions.

Nathan Redmond is the latest up-and-comer from the England youth teams and the lightning-quick right winger currently plies his trade for Birmingham City in the Championship.

The Sun reports that both City and Liverpool are looking to swoop in for an estimated £10 million fee.

While Redmond looks like a good prospect, would his progress falter significantly if he were to join City? He'd need a loan or two to continue his path to potential stardom, that's for sure.

Wesley Sneijder

Could Wesley Sneijder be moving along this time?

The Mirror reports that the Internazionale president will allow the Dutch maestro to leave Milan for £25 million.

Another Sneijder saga is the last thing anyone wants, but the fact remains: Should any Premier League club land him, their title push would receive a significant boost.

Cheikhou Kouyaté

Apparently there are some pretty decent players in the Belgian league too.

Romelu Lukaku is just one of a number of Belgian Jupiler Pro League players who have headed or seem to be heading over to the English Premier League, and Anderlecht could be set to lose another player.

Cheikhou Kouyaté, according to RTBF.be, has been scouted by Manchester City and can play in an assortment of positions including centre-back and defensive midfield.

Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels, the German defender Arsene Wenger should have signed instead of Per Mertesacker, could be on his way to the Etihad Stadium and what a signing that would be.

The need for a new central defender is well documented and Mats Hummels would go a long way towards making the defensive line world-class in stature.

Mats Hummels played an integral role in helping Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title last season and won't be sticking around too much longer according to FootyBunker.

Mirko Vucinic

Despite signing for Juventus in the summer, Mirko Vucinic claims he has serious options in England to consider.

The Montenegrin forward is notorious for speaking out about potential moves and likes to be heavily involved with his agent and the newspapers.

But in truth he hasn't settled too well at The Old Lady and £25 million could, supposedly, see him on his way to the Premier League.

In all likelihood, if he is to move, it's probably going to be Tottenham.

Zeli Ismail

Once touted as the first €100 million player, he's back on the radar of the top clubs two years after failing to secure him.

He's still only 17 years old but the demand is back, giving the youngster some serious things to think about.

Mick McCarthy will lose him if he doesn't make a concerted effort to include him in the first team, and there are few Wolves fans out there who'd like to see 10 or 15 minutes of him in a Premier League game.
