WWE: The Big Show Has Been Put on Path to Wrestlemania Wrought with Destruction
The day The Big Show beat Mark Henry and won the World Heavyweight Championship only to lose it nine minutes later to Daniel Bryan started the ground trembling path for the Big Show.
He just recently had come back from an injury, garbed in a new camouflage singlet and sporting a Weapon of Mass Destruction beanie. Show was going full on Face nice guy on his return, giving out high fives and promoting all his new gear. The feud with Henry seemed to be coming to a mammoth conclusion and it looked as though they were playing up the fact that it had been nine years since Show held the title and he was due.

However, if he were to simply have won the belt from Henry in December and then for the next four months constantly defend it only against Henry it would have been a bit repetitive of everything we had just watched with with the monster Mark Henry. Not that the WWE hasn't been known to do such a thing, but in the era of change, things took a fork in the road to Wrestlemania.
Insert Daniel Bryan, a Internet fan favorite and popular Indie wrestler. He gains the belt the same night Zac Ryder acquires gold and CM Punk retains. Three good guys/faces with titles all with similar backgrounds and history. They seemed to be put in the spotlight to appease a specific type of fan and given the chance to show they are as good as their hype.
Bryan's win causes some bad blood between him and Show, making Bryan look slightly heel-ish and Big Show looking very frustrated. It was like watching the ground shake around a volcano, you just know its only a matter of time before its going to erupt. This throws a new piece into the Henry vs. Show feud while still keeping it alive and the two of them in the main event spotlight. Henry is apparently not ready to go the Swagger route, win the title only to drop back down to mid card obscurity, Henry's here to stay as a contender.
On the Friday the 13th edition of Smackdown (tonight), Bryan takes on Big Show again for the title in a no DQ, no count out match. If you've read around online, I'm sure you've seen some spoilers, but even if you didn't I think everyone knows this match will have some sort of ending that is going to make it go all the way to The Royal Rumble on the 29th of January.
So does Big Show become champion at the Royal Rumble for only the second time in his career? My guess is no. The feud of these three men will continue on into February and right into the elimination chamber. Aside from Big Show, Daniel Bryan, and Mark Henry in the chamber I'm predicting they will be joined by Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Jindar Mahal. Unless of course Orton's "back injury" is fully healed and he's back from his vacation in the tropics.
With Wrestlemania more than a month after the Chamber you have to wonder if it will it be the worlds largest athlete going to the biggest stage of them all with the gold? This one is hard to call, there are a lot of rumors that Shaquille O'Neal is coming to the WWE to feud with the Big Show and as we saw at Wrestlemania 24, Show can make fighting a celebrity look good.
He took on Floyd Mayweather, got a broken nose and a whole lot of hype for the business. Will we see Shaq challenging Show's largest athlete status? They're both seven feet tall, Show is over 400 pounds; Shaq, a meek 325, is no lightweight like Mayweather. Big Show was able to work with a little guy like Mayweather and keep him safe the entire time. With Shaq, who knows what they would be able to do. Could the NBA legend take a choke slam?
I personally would love to see Show back in the main event spot and with gold around his waist. He's earned it for all he does for the company and has proven that a man his size can do more than just body slam guys in the ring. He tweeted a picture of himself recently after a work out and I did get to see him in Buffalo up close when they were on their Smackdown Holiday tour, the man is a walking building with muscles.
I can't wait to see the match tonight and his bouts at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. Will he be wearing gold, or will his skills take him to the big stage to fight a pop culture athlete one more time. Maybe both? The World Heavyweight Champion Big Show vs. NBA star Shaquille O'Neal sounds good to me.
Sounds a lot more entertaining that a slow walk from Randy Orton to the ring followed by neck rolling, then creeper eyes ending with an RKO for the win. Snore. Not to be out done by Daniel Bryan's matches, which are so incredibly hard to watch because of the rantings of Michael Cole and his weird crush/hatred for this guy, we would get a drop kick, some clothes lines, some rolls and a cross face for the win—again.
Whomever Show faces at Mania, let's hope along his way to get there he knocks out all these others who think they're as big as the World's Biggest Athlete.
