MMA News: Greg Jackson and Georges St-Pierre Have NOT Parted Ways

Dale De SouzaJun 7, 2018

So, Greg Jackson and UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre have parted ways, apparently.

At least, that what a lot of people are passing around the Internet to fill out this day in MMA news, via a post from The Underground.

ESPN's Josh Gross, however, tweeted that he had spoken to Jackson, who had talked to St-Pierre an hour before, and that there were no ill feelings or confirmation of GSP's departure from the camp.

Sure, fights were talked about today—a fight got confirmed for UFC 145, some people got confirmed for Bellator's sixth season and there were probably a few good photos from UFC 142's open workout somewhere. But, alas, a rumor about GSP leaving Jackson's tutelage from The Underground's forums took center stage.

While it's unknown where the first reports originated, fans of the camp and the UFC champ will be relieved to know that there will be no departure from the French-Canadian welterweight sensation, who is widely regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in all of the Mixed Martial Arts world.

St-Pierre is seen by many as Jackson's MMA fighter, though he generally trains with Firas Zahabi at the Tristar Gym in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Until only today, nobody would have sensed that there were any problems between the renowned coach and the welterweight kingpin.

Again, though, fans of both Jackson's MMA and St-Pierre will be relieved to know that, despite our earlier reports, there are no problems (on the surface) between the camp and the champ.
