Kelly Clarkson Super Bowl: American Idol Star Tabbed To Sing National Anthem

No less than planet Earth will be watching as Kelly Clarkson strides to the microphone to deliver what is the loneliest few minutes in the world. 

ABC reports that American Idol star Kelly Clarkson will be the one pegged to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVI. 

The report cites a source close to the Super Bowl entertainment that divulged information on the basis of anonymity. No official announcement has been made as of yet. 

They may want to think of releasing a statement soon because in this day and age, just about everyone has found out already. 

The Twitter world was abuzz with anticipation that the biggest singer to step out of the American Idol shadows will take center stage on February 5th in Indianapolis. 

This tweet pretty much describes the temperature in the room at the moment. 

Everyone loves Clarkson. And those that don't are secretly enamored with her. How can you not like her? She is fun, engaging and she is doesn't have the big ego that usually accompanies superstars. I understand that I am not supposed to love me some Clarkson, but I do. 

Sure, I might change the station if someone is in the car with me, but I would feel a tad bit frustrated that I needed to do so. So yes, I will be watching with the millions around the world when Clarkson takes on one of the biggest obstacles of her career. 

This is a song that everyone knows, but only a few can truly master. The opportunity to fall flat and become a laughing stock for the world is always there. So, this is no cakewalk for Clarkson.

It will be awfully lonely for her out there in the middle of the field. One slight miscue could make the video viral.

No worries, we have nothing but confidence in the diva. Super Bowl XLVI is now primed to start off on the right foot.
