NFL Rumors: The Latest Buzz on the Colts, Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck
Several unnamed New York Jets players have reportedly bashed quarterback Mark Sanchez and reportedly want general manager Mike Tannenbaum to acquire Peyton Manning. ESPN's Johnette Howard doesn't believe it's possible for Manning to end up in New York and frankly I agree.
There has been a considerable amount of buzz surrounding Manning to the Jets, but that doesn't mean a move is imminent. First of all, there is almost no chance the Jets trade for Manning. He has a ridiculous contract that will see him getting a $28 million roster bonus on March 8. If the Indianapolis Colts intend to move him, they will do it before that date; if they keep him past that, it would almost be pointless to trade him.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Meanwhile, ESPN's Chris Mortensen contends that Colts owner Jim Irsay would never trade Peyton Manning. If the four-time MVP goes it will be because he is released and signed elsewhere, and that will likely be totally based on his medical situation.
While reports have swirled that the Colts will take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, it is unclear what that means for Manning.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan has emphatically denied that the team is looking to get rid of Sanchez and has claimed to have confidence in the 25-year-old quarterback, though he did express the same type of confidence in now-departed offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
If Manning does hit the open market the Jets will almost surely be in the hunt for him. But if you were him, would you want to spend the twilight of your career on a roster that is so dysfunctional that it boiled over and became a public scandal after the season? I just don't think that's something that would interest him.
If he plays outside of Indianapolis, Manning is likely to choose somewhere with a stable roster and coaching situation. That just isn't the Jets right now.
