Super Bowl Predictions 2012: Broncos and Teams That Shouldn't Be Taken Seriously

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

The 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis is less than a month away, and eight teams are still hopeful that they will hoist the Lombardi Trophy on February 5.

Some of these teams, like the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots, have a great chance of making the trip.

Some of the others, well, they don’t have much of a shot.

Here are the teams that will, without a doubt, be watching the big game at home.

Denver Broncos

Tebowmania will come to a merciful end in Foxborough this weekend.

The Broncos have made a magical run to get into the postseason and to overcome the Pittsburgh Steelers on the first play of overtime at Mile High.

This group has shown guts in keeping games close and winning during the final seconds or in extra time, but they won’t have that opportunity on Saturday.

New England has been far too good this season on the offensive side of the ball to be slowed by an upstart Denver defense. Tim Tebow will be forced to play from well behind for much of the game, something he has proven incapable of doing.

Don’t believe the New York media hype that the Giants can pull off magic like the Packers did last season and win the Super Bowl after a sub-par regular season and catch fire at the right time.

They have to travel to Green Bay to face arguably the best team in the league and have little chance of escaping as victors.

Should they win there, they would have to travel to New Orleans or San Francisco, another intensely rough road test.

The Giants are a decent squad who had a great game against the Atlanta Falcons, but they aren’t Super Bowl contenders and will fall soon.
