Jimmer Fredette: Grading the Sacramento Kings Guard in His First NBA Start
Jimmer Fredette, much to the chagrin of Rick Reilly and his checkbook, got his first NBA start last night against the Philadelphia 76ers in the place of the injured Marcus Thornton.
It didn't go very well. Fredette was just hit 2-of-7 from the field. He only scored seven points together with three assists and two rebounds. He only had a game score of 3.2.
He's certainly had better games this year off the bench. He scored 17 against the Memphis Grizzlies and 14 against the Bulls.
On the other hand he's also done worse, scoring just six points against the Lakers on eight attempts.
There are also some mitigating factors here, such as the fact that the 76ers currently hail the league's top rated defense and they are also the ideal defense to stop from someone like Fredette. They are extremely athletic and quick.
Aside from that the 76ers guard the 2 better than anyone in the NBA, giving up just 15.0 points per game. The Fredette and Francisco Garcia pair netted them 16 points.
All things considered you could argue that he didn't do very well, but he wasn't expected to do much better than he did.
That being the case he gets a solid C.
