Lakers Rumors: Team Must Allow Kobe Bryant to Seek German Doctor for His Wrist

Kobe's wrist is hurting, but he has been a warrior and played through the pain and discomfort. The Lakers are improving as a team as they become more acclimated to Mike Brown's defensive system.

The question is, how long will Bryant be able to play in this condition? He could worsen the injury at any time. The Lakers can ill afford that.

Kobe went outside the box to treat his arthritic knee by having a procedure done in Germany. The procedure was called Platelet Enriched Plasma therapy.

It seems to have done wonders for Bryant's knee. It would make sense to at least inquire about a treatment to speed up the recovery of his ailing right wrist.

It has been reported the Lakers wouldn't be inclined to approve this trip, mainly because Bryant is playing so well coping with the injury.

The procedure would see Kobe miss almost two weeks of action. The Lakers don't appear ready to sacrifice that; it's possible Kobe isn't keen on that either.

This is a bad move for the Lakers. If this can preserve Bryant this year, as well as beyond, it is smart to allow him to pursue it.

A mangled Bryant is not as attractive to possible acquisitions as a healthy one. The Lakers have proven they consider the future of their franchise. That was the whole thought behind pursuing Chris Paul and Dwight Howard.

Now they must consider the short-term future of their franchise and their star player. Even if he doesn't want the treatment, he should be encouraged to look at his options.

It does neither party any good if the injury worsens and he is forced to miss games and shortens his career.
