Chris Jericho Returns to WWE: Will Fans Cheer Him Regardless of His End Game?
We live in a wrestling world where the battle lines are blurred between face and heel, good and bad and sad and insane. Somewhere in those skewed lines is Chris Jericho, the enigma of the WWE.
Now that he has returned to active duty in a role he continues to make famous, will fans accept him, cheer for him and keep him as a favorite no matter what his agenda might be?
Of course they will.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Right now, the company is like a roller coaster of success, riding waves led by CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan. The emergence of a Zack Ryder and resurrection of Kane makes this a great time for the former Unified World Champion to jump back into the ring.
And the silent treatment might be the best way for him to go about garnering more fans on his side.
With feuds between Ziggler/Punk. John Cena/Kane and possibly Zack Ryder/Jack Swagger on Raw alone, Jericho is the middle man so to speak, who will decide when he wants to strike.
A battle with Punk is eminent. A feud with someone like a Brock Lesnar or Miz would delight.
Yes, the new-age Roddy Piper is back and better than ever.
And he has not said a thing yet.
Fans want their former stars to be the same in every way possible when they return to the ring. WE have learned this is not possible with the likes of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Kane and possibly the Undertaker.
New story lines will not allow it.
But fans still love someone like a Jericho because of his charisma, his “personality” as a heel and the fact he could turn from one side to another in a New York minute.
The fact there are major injuries to wrestlers who need to make an impact in the WWE also makes this a difficult situation. When the creative team was planning the return of Y2J, they did not expect Christian to be out so long or a Randy Orton having a back problem or maybe even Alberto Del Rio to have torn his groin.
Again, this is a benefit for Jericho. And if he were successful and win the WWE Title, regardless, the fans would embrace it.
It does not matter how Jericho is portrayed. It is the fact he was portrayed again in the first place. And to us fans, that is all that matters.
