WWE News: Huge Spoiler on Third Inductee into WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012

Drake OzJan 11, 2012

On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, we found out who the first two inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2012 will be.

This year’s class will be headlined by Edge, the youngest person ever to go into the Hall, and the Four Horsemen, who will be inducted as a group along with current TNA star Ric Flair.

Though it appears that a number of WWE legends—like “Macho Man” Randy Savage—will have to wait at least another year to be inducted, all of the men going into the Hall of Fame in 2012 certainly deserve to.

But which star will join them in the Class of 2012? We’ve got a major spoiler on the third name that could be going into the Hall of Fame this year.

"

After speaking with sources, WZ has learned that Yokozuna is expected to be announced as an inductee into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame.

Yokozuna, real name Rodney Anoa'i, is a former 2 time WWE Champion, 2 time WWE Tag Team Champion and winner of the 1993 Royal Rumble.

In addition to his legacy in WWE,  it is also worth mentioning that Anoa'i is related to The Rock. The two are cousins and a part of the famous Samoan wrestling family. There has been a lot of speculation, but not yet confirmed, that The Rock will be announced to the 2012 Hall of Fame class as well. Both the ceremony and WrestleMania are taking place in his hometown of Miami, Florida.

"

I thought that, as WrestleZone indicates, there was a chance that The Rock would be going into the Hall this year because of his WrestleMania match against John Cena and the fact that it takes place in his hometown of Miami.

But it looks as if Yokozuna could be both the sole hometown hero and the big name to be inducted posthumously in 2012, and I really have no problem with that.

Say what you want about Yokozuna’s “lack of wrestling skills,” but the guy was a staple of the WWE throughout the 1990s and was one of the most polarizing figures in company history, thanks in large part to his incredible size.

His contributions to professional wrestling can’t be measured in terms of great matches or memorable title runs. Rather, Yokozuna will be remembered for the unforgettable moments, such as his “bodyslam competition” aboard the USS Intrepid.

That being said, Yokozuna certainly had a resume that was better than most, with two WWE Championships and a Royal Rumble victory. So, his inclusion in the Hall of Fame is fine by me.

It would be cool to see him inducted alongside his cousin The Rock, but given that there are already a number of major names going into the Hall this year, I think it would be best to wait on The Rock’s induction and let him headline his own class.
