What Your Winning 2012 Fantasy Football Team Looks Like

Joseph SeymourJan 10, 2012

If all the stars aligned, and you were able to pick every player you wanted for your 2012 Fantasy Football team, this is what your team should look like.

All of these players have been chosen either by their 2011 performance, or their 2012 potential.

Now, this is obviously a little unrealistic to think that you're playing with people boneheaded enough to let you get all of these picks, but securing any of the following players will greatly benefit your team and enhance your chances of taking home that jersey, $1000 pool or bragging rights for the next year.

Aaron Rodgers

1 of 9

I saw an inactive owner win a couple of weeks this year with two or three starters on IR with Aaron Rodgers as their QB. The highest fantasy scoring QB by a considerable margin, Rodgers needs to be your No. 1 pick. Trade half your team for him if you have to. Do whatever it takes to ensure that #12 is on your team!

Arian Foster

2 of 9

Arian Foster is a fantasy powerhouse that is liable to score 30+ points in standard leagues, and more in PPC leagues,  and is my number one choice for your RB selection.

Marshawn Lynch

3 of 9

Beastmode isn't just a beast on the field.  He's also a beast on your fantasy team.  The epitome of consistency, Lynch's 2nd half of the season didn't have a game without at least one TD and rarely had a game under 100 rushing yds. Look for more of the same in the 2012 season.

Calvin Johnson

4 of 9

Calvin Johnson is a freak of nature, a physical specimen, a one-in-a-million type of player.  The obvious No. 1 receiver choice, Megatron is a major game-changer.

Julio Jones

5 of 9

Although he wasn't near the top of the receiving list points-wise in 2011, Julio Jones caught on fire near the end of the season. With the experience under his belt after this year, expect Jones to make a difference on the Falcons offense and on your fantasy team in 2012.

A.J. Green

6 of 9

Much like Julio Jones, A.J. Green had a steller rookie year and solidified himself as the #1 target for Andy Dalton. Give him and Dalton an entire offseason to further develop and prepare to see a duo to be reckoned with come the 2012 season.

Rob Gronkowski

7 of 9

I don't think I need to explain to anyone why Rob Gronkowski should be your #1 pick at the TE position. He topped the TE list by a long shot, and for good reason. Gronk had numbers higher than most star receivers and backs consistently throughout the year. Look for this young TE to do the same this next year.

Matt Prater

8 of 9

Matt Prater had an above average year in 2011 as a fantasy kicker. With Tebow coming into his own and improving the Bronco's ability to move the ball down the field, look for Prater to have a top-tier kicking year in 2012.

San Francisco 49ers Defense

9 of 9

No surprise here.  The number one defense in the league in 2011, as long as they stay healthy, will continue their relentless slaughter of opposing quarterbacks in the 2012 season.
