LSU vs. Alabama: Crimson Tide Roll and Put to Rest Any Title Controversy

It's settled. The Alabama Crimson Tide are the BCS national champions and there is nothing you can say about it. 

As if to save the nation from yet another round of discussion on how we need a college football playoff, the Crimson Tide rolled up the LSU Tigers and smoked them for four straight quarters. 

The chance for controversy filled the Superdome before the clash of defensive titans. LSU had a legitimate beef in having to play the Tide and beat them once again. 

Yet, all that BCS BS dissolved into the cheers from the Alabama faithful as the Crimson Tide hit harder and looked better in every facet of the game. QB A.J. McCarron did his job as he moved the ball enough to get point by field goals. 

RB Trent Richardson pounded the line and even scored the only touchdown in the two games these teams played this season. The real joy on the field was the Alabama defense that came in hungry and fed for four straight quarters. 

Led by future NFL star linebacker Courtney Upshaw, the Tide defense held the LSU Tigers to less than 100 total yards and just five first downs. 

That is a classic butt-whopping if ever there was one.

The LSU offense was lost from the start, and by the time Richardson scored his fourth-quarter touchdown, the defense was as well. You could see the Tigers visibly gasping for air, and even Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu never figured into this game like he would have liked. 

Alabama owned the pace of the game and dominated the ball at every turn. In a game that placed two like-talented teams against one another, Alabama delivered one knockout punch after the next. 

The LSU Tigers were outplayed, pure and simple. They didn't just manage to lose the game, they saw any possible controversy destroyed as well.
