Best of WWE: CM Punk's Funniest and Brightest Moments, Pt. 1
This is the third edition of my "best of" series.
On to the new edition!
CM Punk has been on the wrestling scene for more than a decade.
He has made it his mission to become the very best wrestler in each promotion he's ever worked for, and he'd done just that.
Aside from being a phenomenal worker, he is also very gifted when it comes to cutting promos and conducting interviews. His carefree attitude and genuine love for the business has made him one the most "must-see" wrestlers in a long time.
This is only the first of two parts dedicated to some of his funniest and brightest moments throughout his career. If I forgot any moments that you were looking for, don't worry—I have a long list ready to go for Pt. 2.
Phantom Microphone for the Win!
1 of 16Just watch and enjoy!
A Royal Promo
2 of 16CM Punk was kicking butt in the 2010 Royal Rumble, every time he'd eliminate a superstar, he'd grab a microphone and cut a promo.
"Excuse me....It's Clobbering Time."
CM Punk Wins His First WWE Championship
3 of 16I didn't think he would be booked to win.
I thought he was going to lose or get screwed and take time off and return a few months later.
Boy was I wrong!
The whole ending to Money in the Bank 2011 reminds me of the entertainment we use to get from WWE PPV's back in the late 1990's.
CM Punk Doesn't Like This Guy or His Parents
4 of 16CM Punk had a magical way of working the crowd during his indie days.
Goodnight Randell
5 of 16It doesn't seem like a lot of wrestlers these days use their opponents finishers and taunts against them.
I remember when Austin and Rock use to do it to each other all the time.
During last years Elimination Chamber match, CM Punk decided he wanted to do Randy Orton's "Punch Ground Thing" and then put him to sleep.
CM Punk Likes Sour Patch Kids and Has a Rat Problem?
6 of 16This was when both he and Mr. Kennedy were in OVW.
I love that Punk is wearing and Eddie Guerrero shirt!
CM Punk Is 2010's Commentator of the Year!
7 of 16CM Punk proved he was the best in the ring, on the mic and even on commentary throughout 2010.
I Know Where That Hand Has Been!
8 of 16This was CM Punk's first major PPV as WWE Champion and he was gearing up for his match with John Cena at SummerSlam.
While hanging around backstage, he had a confrontation with Johnny Ace which resulted in Punk making some hilarious facial expressions.
Eventually The Funkman took off and that's when Stephanie McMahon entered the picture and attempted to "wish" CM Punk good luck and offered him a handshake.
I bet you can imagine what CM Punk's reaction would be to that.
CM Punk...The New Divas Champion?
9 of 16While Maryse was being interviews by Joey Styles, Money in the Bank winner CM Punk was walking by and happened to see a championship.
The rules state that any winner of Money in the Bank may cash in the briefcase on any championship when they see fit!
The Rebels Collide
10 of 16Who didn't get a smile on their face when they saw these two come face to face?
CM Punk Invades Comic Con & Goes Toe to Toe with Cousin Sal's Son
11 of 16These were going to be two separate slides but I found a video that had both together so I figured I'd just post it as one.
Puke invading WWE's Comic Con panel was completely unexpected and amazing. I can't remember anything like that happening before.
I just love him messing around with Jimmy Kimmel's nephew Archie, it's a very funny segment that I never saw until a few months ago.
CM Punk Says What?
12 of 16Who saw this coming?
Anyone?
CM Punk Is Not Vince McMahon's Son
13 of 16Back in 2007, there was a major storyline surrounding who was Vince McMahon's illegitimate son.
During an episode of ECW, Jonathon Coachman brought in CM Punk as a possibility.
The confrontation between Vince and Punk is pretty funny.
Best Sister in the World
14 of 16When Kevin Nash resurfaced in mid 2011 many people weren't expecting a while lot from him in terms of in-ring ability.
I was hoping he'd be at least decent on the microphone.
Apparently some people didn't believe he was with us anymore!
Contract Re-negotiations
15 of 16This whole segment was pure gold. Maybe I'm biased because I'm from Boston, but I laugh every time I watch this thing. This is something I would have thought Austin or Rock would have done years ago.
The End...Until I Post Part Two That Is.
16 of 16If you enjoyed part one, you're defiantly going to enjoy part two!
That's all I really have to say.
