The 22 Wackiest Bloopers of the 2011 NFL Season

Vincent FrankJun 5, 2018

I know that as fans of certain NFL teams we are extremely serious about the game of football. That said, there does come a time when we have to laugh at this sport and the people involved.

Whether it is a running back tripping over a cord, a quarterback attempting to bend the rules or an official making a donkey of himself, there have been some really funny moments from the 2011 NFL season.

Today I am going to take a look at the 22 funniest moments of the regular season. Feel free to add some of your videos to the comment section.

This should be fun.

22. Hello Detroit, We Are on the Air

1 of 22

News anchor here looks a little lost. I fault the producers back at the station, but it is funny nonetheless. He has the look of Saddam Hussein before his execution.

21. Joe Kapp, Say It Ain't So

2 of 22

There is nothing funnier than seeing two old people get into a fight. What makes this even better is that fact that Joe Kapp, a former NFL quarterback, and his sparring partner were using their canes as weapons.

Just leads me back to my intoxicated teenage days and watching Jackass on MTV...Johnny Knoxville, anyone?

20. Matt Cassel Doesn't Just Throw Pick, He Fumbles Hat

3 of 22

What makes this video funny is the fact that Matt Cassel's epic fail towards the end of the Chiefs' loss to the Chargers earlier this season was his hat fumble on the sideline following a game-clinching interception.

Cassel had the look of someone who probably didn't give a damn as the hat hit the ground.

Would you have?

19. For All You That Want a Pet Monkey...

4 of 22

When I was younger, I wanted a pet monkey. In fact, I still do. However, exterior forces have disabled my ability to acquire one.

If you are in my shoes in this regard, just show this video to your housemates. At the very least, you could use the "he will entertain our dog" excuse.

18. Harvey Dahl Drops the F-Bomb

5 of 22

We all knew that Harvey Dahl was one of the dirtiest offensive linemen in the league. Here we have the audio to prove it.

If you are going to curse, please make sure you are not miked up next time. Remember there are children watching.

17. Marion Barber Pulls a Marion Barber

6 of 22

Oh, Marion Barber.

This is where the obligatory "don't try this at home" saying could expand to the football field.

16. And...This Is Why the St. Louis Rams Won Two Games This Season

7 of 22

You are not going to win many games when you take out one another rather than the opposing team.

Here the St. Louis Rams aid Jordy Nelson in his long 94-yard touchdown reception.

15. One Word: Ouch

8 of 22

Anyone who has ever played sports at any level has had one of these moments. It is times like these when we all (mostly men) have to thank C.F. Bennett for the invention of the jockstrap in 1874.

If it wasn't for him, that tennis ball in the throat feeling would be much more common.

14. Marshawn Lynch and Skittles

9 of 22

This has to be part of the list—if for no other reason than my love of Skittles growing up. It's like the Seattle Seahawks hired their own Skittles man for Marshawn Lynch.

Now that is pretty awesome.

13. Michael Vick Accidentally Kicks Ball at Cheerleader

10 of 22

A special thanks to the NFL for copyrighting and deleting this video across the web. Here you get an amateur video from a Droid smart phone.

In case you are having a hard time seeing it, Michael Vick kicks the ball after he goes out of bounds. The ball hits a Washington Redskins cheerleader in the face.

Of course it was an accident.

12. Curtis Painter Improvises

11 of 22

Didn't someone at Purdue teach Curtis Painter that you cannot throw two forward passes on the same play?

Despite his best efforts and the utter confusion on the field, Painter was called for an illegal forward pass. I guess if I had that dude coming at my face, I would do everything not to get hit as well.

All is forgiven. It's Andrew Luck time in Indianapolis.

11. Who Says Philly Fans Are the Only Ones That Want to Hit Andy Reid?

12 of 22

I bet that a large number of Philadelphia Eagles fans recorded this moment and are preparing to play it over and over again during the offseason.

In fact, I could even conclude that many of them will get their rocks off remembering this moment. After all, the "City of Brotherly Love" doesn't live up to its namesake when it comes to professional sports.

10. Michael Boley Slams Ball at Face of NFL Employee

13 of 22

Look at this in slow motion. How can Michael Boley even say that he didn't mean to throw the ball at this NFL employee? Seriously, the slow-mo replay indicates otherwise.

If Boley didn't mean to throw it at him, you can conclude one thing: He will never be the New York Giants' emergency quarterback.

9. Marshawn Lynch Trips over Cord

14 of 22

I guess this is the only way the NFL could stop Marshawn Lynch this season. Put a cord on the sideline and attempt to break his ankles.

Epic fail.

8. Ron Jaworski Utilizes Fecal Matter Comparison

15 of 22

I am pretty sure that Miami Dolphins fans could utilize Chad Henne and this word in the same sentence another way.

Still, it is pretty priceless to hear "Jaws" slip up on national television this way. Just another reason why I love the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

The apple definitely didn't far too far from the city's apple tree.

7. Larry Grant Gets His Own Skittles

16 of 22

This might have been in poor taste, but it was pretty awesome nonetheless.

After Larry Grant forced the game-clinching fumble towards the end of the Christmas Eve game and knocked the Seattle Seahawks out of the playoffs, some 49ers fans thought it would be a good idea to give him a treat of Skittles.

The larger question is why did 49ers fans seem to have Skittles on them at the game? Interesting...

6. Ever Wondered If the Brick Wanted to Be Drafted by the Patriots?

17 of 22

Scientists all around the world went to their labs to study the physical possibility of this situation. Well, maybe that is an exaggeration, but it's awesome nonetheless.

Maybe the Jets' helmets being a different size than the rest of the league had something to do with their disappointing performance this season.

Just a theory, but I am prepared to stick with it.

5. David Nelson Gives His Girl the Ball

18 of 22

Love is thicker than football, especially if your girl is a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Here David Nelson of the Buffalo Bills hands the ball to his girlfriend, who just so happens to be rooting for the opposing team.

This gives a new meaning to dating outside your league.

4. Ever Wonder What Ryan Fizpatrick Sounded Like at His Harvard Graduation?

19 of 22

The title of this video states, "Ryan Fitzpatrick Screams Like a Girl." Not too sure about that; most of my ex-girlfriends had deeper voices than this.

In fact, Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, has a deeper voice than this.

Fitzpatrick might want to buy the rights to this video like Tom Hanks bought the rights to this show.

Bosom Buddies and Ryan Fitzpatrick in the same slide...uh-oh, somehow I can sense a slander charge. Just not sure from who.

3. Referee Trips Himself

20 of 22

This slide is for all of us who were disgusted by the officiating this weekend. Maybe he should have fallen on the dirt. That way we would sing a tune: "Mud on your face, you're a big disgrace."

I think it's time a new generation of officials got the call...right.

2. Mark Sanchez Lines Up at Wide Receiver

21 of 22

I guess the idea of moving Mark Sanchez to the wide receiver position was officially over following this hilarious attempt at playing football.

First he flinches, then he holds and then he falls down.

Is it possible that quarterbacking is what Sanchez is best at? Indeed a scary thought for New York Jets fans.

1. Nick Novak Using Gatorade Container as a Toilet

22 of 22

I have relieved myself in public, and I am pretty sure most men have at one point in their lives. At a certain point, it becomes necessary due to the lack of indoor plumbing in your immediate area. Burning Man, fishing at the lake, camping and so on.

However, I am pretty sure that we didn't make the decision to do so in front of 60,000 people at a stadium and millions more on television.

Here, Nick Novak makes the crazy guy in the forest proud and marks this Gatorade container as his own.
