Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos Threaten Steelers Upset—and How They Can Do It

Kristian WinfieldJun 7, 2018

In a match where the 13-3 Pittsburgh Steelers were heavy favorites to advance to the AFC Divisional Round, Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos have rallied the troops, scoring 20 unanswered points all in the second quarter and taking an 11-point lead into the locker room at halftime.

With the controversy lurking of Brady Quinn possibly getting the start, Tebow silenced the critics by completing five of his 11 attempts for 185 yards and a touchdown, and took another one in on foot for an 8-yard score.

His big target, Demaryius Thomas, burned the Steelers' secondary for two receptions totaling up 109 yards.

Big Ben Roethlisberger threw for 139 yards, but was picked off once by Quinton Carter, and was almost picked off a second time by Von Miller had Denver not been called for offsides.

If Pittsburgh is going to get back into the game, Big Ben is going to have to live through the pain of he re-aggravated ankle injury and make some better decisions with the football.

Denver's been able to put a plug on Pitt's running game, limiting Isaac Redman to only 44 yards on 11 carries.

If Tebow can continue to make plays for the Denver Broncos, and if the defense can continue to keep the Steelers out of the red zone, they just might pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year.
