Grand Theft Auto VI Video Game Reconfirmed to Have Fall 2025 Release Date
Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for a Fall 2025 release date.
Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive, revealed that news while reporting results for the third quarter of the 2025 fiscal year on Thursday.
"Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier's Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4," Zelnick said.
The American video game company owns Rockstar Games, which has published the Grand Theft Auto franchise since 1997.
Obviously, this is a highly anticipated release, especially after the success of Grand Theft Auto V. Per Dean Takahashi of GamesBeat, over 210 million units of that game have sold worldwide. According to Jordan Sirani of IGN, it's the third-most sold video game of all time, behind Tetris and Minecraft.
The GTA VI trailer dropped in December, with a stated release year of 2025.
GTA V is 12 years old at this point, so fans have been waiting long enough for GTA VI to drop. Thankfully, it appears they won't have to wait too much longer.
