College Football Recruiting Rankings: Top 2025 Schools Post-National Signing Day

Joe TanseyFeb 6, 2025

The SEC once again dominated the college football recruiting cycle.

The Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide topped the class of 2025 team rankings.

In fact, seven of the top 10 recruiting classes reside inside the SEC.

Only the Big Ten trio of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines and Oregon Ducks disrupted the SEC's stranglehold on the top of the class of 2025.

Texas landed four players inside the top 25 in the class of 2025.

The Longhorns bolstered their defense with a pair of five-star safeties Jonah Williams and Kade Phillips.

Four of Texas' top five recruits in the class play on the defensive side of the ball. The other two are defensive linemen.

The bulk of the entire Texas class is built around reinforcing the program's defense. Twelve total defensive players, five on the defensive line, five in the secondary and two linebackers, are part of the top-ranked class.

The biggest offensive addition is wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, who is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the class.

At minimum, the influx of talent into Austin should help keep Texas near the top of the SEC, and it might even improve the program's standing in the long run.

Georgia continued its incredible run of recruiting under Kirby Smart with the class of 2025.

The Bulldogs signed a quartet of top-25 recruits, and just like Texas, they are bringing in a handful of the nation's top defensive players.

Five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, the No. 3 player in the country, is the headliner of Georgia's second-ranked class.

Five of UGA's top six recruits are defensive players. It is set to bring in a total of 13 defenders.

Of the eight top-50 players UGA signed, only two of them are skill position players on offense.

However, there is some depth coming in at wide receiver, where five players are signed.

Kalen DeBoer signed a trio of top-15 recruits in his first full recruiting cycle as Alabama head coach.

Quarterback Keelon Russell, the No. 2 overall prospect, is the marquee player in the Crimson Tide's third-ranked class.

Offensive lineman Michael Carroll and cornerback Dijon Lee are the other top-15 recruits headed to Tuscaloosa.

The Crimson Tide also have a wide range of defensive depth coming in with the class of 2025. They have 10 defensive players signed.

However, the class of 2025 will be judged by how successful Russell is inside the Alabama offense.
