76ers Rumors: Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon Drawing Interest at 2025 NBA Trade Deadline

Joseph ZuckerFeb 5, 2025

Two veterans on the Philadelphia 76ers roster, center Andre Drummond and guard Eric Gordon, are garnering interest ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline, according to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.

Philly appears to be ready to sell as it sits 11th in the Eastern Conference at 20-29. The Sixers traded forward Caleb Martin to the Dallas Mavericks for guard Quentin Grimes and the 2025 second-round pick they previously dealt. Stein also reported forward K.J. Martin is going to the Detroit Pistons for two second-rounders.

Drummond and Gordon have player options for 2025-26 worth $5 million and $3.5 million respectively. Especially with how much Philadelphia is struggling on the court, either could plausibly opt out and chase more money or a better shot at a championship.

As painful as it may be to recognize, the 76ers don't have a great playoff outlook and could miss the postseason entirely.

Joel Embiid returned to the court in Tuesday's 118-116 win over the Dallas Mavericks, which provides some optimism moving forward.

But we've been waiting for Philly to turn the corner for months now and it hasn't happened for one reason or another. The front office shouldn't pivot toward a complete teardown, but it might as well see what it can get for Gordon and Drummond when they are unlikely to move the needle much for the rest of the year.

Gordon is averaging 7.3 points per game and shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc. Even at 36, he remain an effective long-range threat. Drummond, meanwhile, is a dependable backup big (7.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game) on a reasonable contract.

Both could reasonably net something in draft compensation, which could help the Sixers fill out the roster or facilitate another deal down the road.
