Eagles' Jalen Hurts: 'I Was Just Joking Around' with Sirianni 'Straitjacket' Remark
Jalen Hurts turned some heads with a postgame comment he made about head coach Nick Sirianni letting him out of his "straitjacket" during the NFC Championship Game, but to hear him tell it, he was just having some fun.
"I was just joking around after the game," the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback told reporters Friday.
As Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia relayed, Hurts was asked about playing for the head coach following the win over the Washington Commanders and said, "he's done a great job. I guess he let me out of my straitjacket a little bit today."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hurts threw 28 times against the Commanders, his most passing attempts in three playoff games this year and tied for his second-most attempts since September. He was also effective while doing so, going 21-of-28 for 246 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions to go with three rushing touchdowns.
"Yeah, I think he was having fun after the game," Sirianni said Tuesday. "We've been winning a couple different ways this year. I think he was just having fun after the game. I know this, and he's said this plenty of times: He doesn't care how we win. I don't care how we win, as long as we win."
Hurts attempted 361 passes this season compared to 538 during the 2023 campaign, but there was a major difference for this year's Philadelphia squad.
It had arguably the best running back in the NFL in Saquon Barkley.
Having someone like Barkley will dramatically change the strategy for any offense, and it's hard to argue with the results since the Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
If they win, perhaps Hurts can joke around again about his head coach and the offensive strategy after the game.
