Steelers vs. Broncos: Local Bar Takes Shots at Ben Roethlisberger's Past

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has had his share of problems off the field throughout his NFL career. But that is no excuse for what Boone's Tavern in Denver, Colo. has done to hype up the playoff game between the Steelers and Denver Broncos on Sunday. 

Black Sports Online posted the photograph of the sign at Boone's Tavern letting all the people in town know that Roethlisberger was coming to town. 

Stay classy, Denver. 

If you want to take shots at Roethlisberger or the Steelers for the way that they play on the field, that is one thing. But to personally attack someone to try and rattle some cages before a football game is stupid, ignorant and offensive to anyone who has ever been a victim of sexual assault. 

And if this is supposed to be funny, someone should tell the people that are in charge of Boone's Tavern that it isn't. 

When did it become common practice to blend sports and real world problems in together? And to try and twist it around to make it funny is even more disgusting. 

The people at Boone's Tavern should be ashamed and embarrassed by what they did. If they wanted to make a joke about Roethlisberger, do it about his ankle and the fact that he is having problems walking or something like that. 

Don't tell the women in Denver to be careful because Big Ben is coming to town. There is no need for that kind of trash to be put on a marquee outside of a bar. 

Nothing that happens on the field today between Pittsburgh and Denver is going to matter one bit in the grand scheme of things. But something like sexual assault, which is what these idiots are joking about, has affected millions of lives in ways that the people at Boone's Tavern could never even imagine. 

They should be outside their establishment right now issuing an apology to anyone and everyone that they offended with their lame attempt at humor, and then just go back to watching football games without trying to create controversy to get their names in the paper. 

Hopefully the Steelers defeat the Broncos just so we don't have to hear anymore from the people at Boone's Tavern.
