Blake Griffin Video: Watch Clippers Star Dunk in Ersan Ilyasova's Face
Blake Griffin is known around the NBA for being a dunk artist. He has put down some of the flashier jams and finished some of the most high-flying of ally-oops the league has ever seen.
Last night, he added one extremely savage dunk to his long list of accomplishments.
Here’s how it happened.
The Los Angeles Clippers were up 54-50 with a little less than seven minutes left in the third quarter and looking for some signs of life to help stave off a sluggish start.
The team certainly found one when new superstar point guard Chris Paul spotted a charging Griffin headed to the hoop with a full head of steam.
The Clips' young forward took a dribble and prepared for takeoff with no one able to stop him now.
That didn’t stop Ersan Ilyasova from trying to.
As the Bucks' 6’10” big man tried to slide his feet over and get into position to play some semblance of defense, Griffin smashed into him and knocked him off balance and to the floor.
Getting a piece of a guy moving that fast at the basket is usually enough to alter his shot and force him to abandon his dunk, but not in this instance and certainly not with a freak like Blake hellbent on flushing it down.
Ilyasova is now just another posterized Blake Griffin victim and had no chance of stopping that incredible one-handed jam.
The Clippers ended up winning, 92-86, and are going to be just fine if Paul continues to find the young dunking machine for plays like this.
