Eagles Coach Praises Nick Sirianni as 'an Incredible Leader' After Super Bowl Berth

Timothy RappJan 27, 2025

The Nick Sirianni glow-up has been a sight to behold.

The Philadelphia Eagles' head coach was planted firmly on the hot seat following his team's epic meltdown a season ago, though the organization decided to stick by him (albeit while basically demanding he reshuffle his coaching staff and take on more of a CEO approach to the position).

That decision proved prescient—the Eagles are headed back to the Super Bowl for the second time in Sirianni's four seasons as head coach, and people within the organization are praising the job he's done this season.

"He's a connector of people," an Eagles' staff member texted Albert Breer of SI.com. "Culture is all about playing together. The entire group is bought in, and winning and maximizing the moment we are in."

"Nick is just an incredible leader," one of his coaches added. "It's the way he connects everyone on an individual level. Love his team meetings, brings the energy and focus for our team."

Now, it can't be ignored that Howie Roseman and Philly's front office had an offseason for the ages. The team signed Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun, Mekhi Becton and C. J. Gardner-Johnson in free agency and drafted Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Those moves transformed both sides of the ball, and the result has been an MVP-worthy season from Barkley and the best defense in football this past season.

But Sirianni has maximized the talent he's been given. He got his coordinator hirings right with Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore. He navigated a rocky 2-2 start to the season. He has a 48–20 record with the Eagles, has made the postseason four straight times and is now in his second Super Bowl.

There are no more jokes about Sirianni's job security—the man just wins.
